Whilst a pint of Guinness is a staple, you and your guests may fancy a little change this year. If so – we’ve got you covered.

We’ve searched high and low for some delicious Paddy’s Day drinks that you will definitely want to try.

So why not mix it up this year by tasting a few of the following?

Green Beer

Let’s start off with a quick and easy St. Patrick’s Day classic.

It is commonly believed that Green Beer was first introduced by Dr. Thomas Hayes Curtin in 1914. He wanted everything at his St. Patrick’s Day event in New York to be green – including the beer.

So over 100 years later here we are, sipping on some tasty beers that just so happen to be green. To create your own green beer, all you need is your favourite beer and some green food colouring.

You can make it as green as you like – we tend to find that a couple of drops is perfect!

And voila you’re sorted!

Baby Guinness

A Baby Guinness may look like a normal Guinness but it’s a very different drink.

Contrary to the name, there is actually no Guinness to be found in this tasty shot.

These mini drinks are made up of Kahula and Bailey’s Irish cream – pretty dreamy, right?

They are also very easy to make – just give this recipe a try here

Whisky Sour

Nothing says Paddy’s Day like a little bit of Irish whisky – right?

This means that a couple of whisky-based cocktails will never go amiss at this time of year.

One of our favourites is a classic Whisky Sour.

This delicious and velvety drink is a crowd-pleaser, especially if you follow this recipe.

Also If you use an egg white, your Paddy’s Day cocktail toppers will sit perfectly on top of your drink.

So grab your favourite Irish whisky out of the cupboard and get mixing!

The Irish Maid

If a cocktail has the word ‘Irish’ in then you know it will be a hit on St. Patrick’s Day.

The Irish Maid consists of Irish whisky, elderflower liqueur, lemon juice, honey and ice.

Balancing sweet and bitter tastes, this is a drink that you’ll have no trouble sipping down on Paddy’s Day.

Nutty Irishman

How does a creamy, nutty and velvety drink sound?

We thought you might be sold.

A Nutty Irishman combines hazelnut liquor with classic Irish cream.

If you’re having trouble tracking down a hazelnut liquor then you can substitute it for amaretto (it still tastes pretty fantastic!)

This is the perfect finisher to a St. Patrick’s Day extravaganza.

And there’s your drinks for the night sorted

Look, we love a pint of Guinness, but these drinks definitely give it a run for its money.

Give them a try and let us know how you get on. And remember, whatever you decide to sip on this Paddy’s Day – make sure to finish it with an Irish themed cocktail topper!
